Sam of Christchurch, New ZealandHi, we are Clayton & Kelly, from Christchurch, New Zealand. We have had our dog for seven years now and people keep asking what type of dog he is. We have always said that we don't really know and most people say that he must have Huntaway in him (to which we reply, 'Of course he has, that's what we feed him'. There's a dog roll here called 'Huntaway'). But now I think we can safely tell people that Samuel is a Huntaway. Sam is the best dog ever. He's extremely obedient, intelligent and good with strangers. He's not the best guard dog but he tries hard (he'll give a really good bark while the person is on the other side of the gate, but as soon as they're on his side, he's their best friend!). Clayton is a builder and takes Sam to work as much as possible, you can find Sam in the sunniest spot or under Claytons feet. Some people are amazed at Sam's ability to understand us. We have always spoken to him as if he were another person and treated him that way too. We have conversations with him all the time and tell him if he's being an idiot. As you can see we have a very good looking dog (& he knows it!). Clayton, Kelly & Sam
