Gini of the West MidlandsNic & Janine here, oh and Gini also known as Gin-Gin. We have had Gin-Gin for about Nine weeks, she came from a dogs home in the West Midlands, were she had been for three months, looking very sad and thin. We had gone for a small dog but she spoke to us after we took her for a walk. We asked the dog home what type of dog Gin-Gin was and they said she was a cross between an German Shepard and something else, but not to sure. So we took her anyway For Thirty pounds. When we got her home we did wander if we had picked the right dog, she was all over the place, but after a while she settled in very well. When we went on holiday to the North of Wales, (with Gin-Gin ) to a small village on the coast, after we had unpacked we went for a walk, one of the locals came out and asked us if we knew what type of dog she was? No we said we think she is a cross. No she isn't he replied, she is a New Zealand Huntaway, I've got one just the same called Harry. So he showed us a picture. "Wow" we said, what do you know about them? so he told us about the Huntaway Club and that's why I'm contacting you now. Gin-Gin has given us so much pleasure just in the short space of time we have had her, she loves our bed, football, swimming, running, running and more running. She is a great guard dog, any noise and she barks her head off at people and then proceeds to lick them. The picture we have sent to you is of Gin-Gin checking out some sheep in the hills of Wales, her first sighting we think, she made no noise at all, just stalked them. She was amazing in the hills, no rock or gap was to big for her and she loved every minute of it, as did we. We're so happy that we found her and that she is a Huntaway, which answers a lot of questions and we would be more than willing to help in any way to get the dogs recognized as breed.
